Thieves Targeting Bicycles in Gloucester City

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ-This past week, according to the Gloucester City Police Department, thieves are targeting bicycles in the community. One bike was stolen and four suspects were arrested trying to steal bikes. The dates of the incidents were:
August 27 (7:58 am)A resident of the 300 block of Bergen Street reported sometime overnight, unknown person(s) stole his children’s bicycles. The investigation is ongoing.
August 30 (10:34 am)Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of N. Brown Street for a report of two males attempting to gain access to the rear yard. An alert neighbor witnessed this and approached the males. One male fled on a bike while the other stayed at the scene. The male that fled was apprehended on Collings Avenue a short time later after fleeing from the officer. A (16) year old male from Camden was charged with defiant trespass and resisting arrest. A (15) year old male from Camden was charged with defiant trespass. Both were released to their parents pending juvenile court action. The arresting officers were Ptl. Keith Wall and DSgt. Carl DePoder.
August 30 (1:03 pm)Officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Monmouth Street for a report of two males who stole a bike out of the rear yard of the residence. A witnessed yelled at the males as they were leaving and they dropped the bike before fleeing. A description of the males was provided and they were located a short time later on Johnson Blvd. at Hudson Street by Ptl. Keith Wall. Both were positively identified and taken into custody. Babe A. Houston (18), a resident of Camden, was charged with defiant trespass and theft. He was released after processing. A (14) year old male resident of Camden was charged with defiant trespass and released to his mother pending juvenile court action. The bike was returned to the owner.

August 23 (5:10 am)A resident of the 200 block of Essex Street reported sometime overnight, the windshield on his vehicle was cracked while parked in front of his residence. The investigation is ongoing.
August 23 (8:31 am)Brandy L. Waldron (25), a resident of Malaga, was arrested on Highland Blvd. at Orlando Avenue by Ptl. Cassy Pollander on a warrant from Camden City. She was additionally charged with driving on a suspended license and released on bail after processing.
August 23 (2:26 pm)Dennis B. Bozarth (40), a resident of Camden, was arrested on Broadway at Market Street by Ptl. George Spingler due to the fact he was a fugitive from justice wanted in Gloucester County. After processing, he was remanded to Camden County Jail.
August 23 (3:40 pm)Nicholas Brown (21), a resident of Brooklawn, was arrested in the 300 block of Monmouth Street by Sgt. Bill Johnson Jr. Brown had pulled his vehicle up to Police H.Q. with the car stereo playing excessively loud. Sgt. Johnson Jr., standing outside of Police H.Q. at the time, asked Brown for his identification so he could issue him a summons. Brown refused to provide his identification, telling Sgt. Johnson Jr. that he could not issue him a summons because he did not pull him over. Brown was explained the error in his logic and that if he did not provide his identification, he would be arrested. Mr. Brown responded that he should probably just arrest him. Mr. Brown was placed under arrest and escorted inside H.Q. where he was charged with hindering apprehension, violating the city noise ordinance concerning loud stereos and having tinted windows on his vehicle. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Deptford Twp. After processing, he was released on bail.
August 23 (3:14 pm)A traffic stop on Market Street at I-76 conducted by Ptl. Shea O’Donnell and Tim Ryder resulted in the arrests of the following individuals: Alicia M. Spiegel (21), a resident of Pine Hill, was arrested and charged with possession of CDS (crack cocaine). Christina A. Brown (39), a resident of Brooklawn, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were released after processing.
August 23 (4:10 pm)The owner of the Liquor Barn reported three males entered his store and stole three bottles of liquor. Video surveillance video of the theft was obtained and the investigation is ongoing.
August 23 (6:38 pm)Cassandra J. Kaighn (43), a resident of the 400 block of N. Broadway, was arrested on Broadway at Linden Street by Cpl. Bill Lessig on a warrant from Mansfield Twp. After processing, she was released on bail.
August 23 (8:32 pm)Jeffrey S. Sims Jr. (25), a resident of Georgia, was arrested in the parking lot of the Rodeway Inn on Rt. 130 by Ptl. Mike Calzonetti and K9 Blitz. He was charged with possession of CDS (marijuana) and released after processing.
August 23 (9:07 pm)Peter A. Renzi (47), a resident of Berlin Boro, was arrested on Broadway at Essex Street by Cpl. Bill Lessig on a warrant from Camden City. After processing, he was released on bail.
August 23 (11:42 pm)Cpl. Bill Lessig stopped to speak with a group at Martin’s Lake for being in the park after hours. While speaking with them, he detected the odor of marijuana. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Ethan J. Martin (21), a resident of the unit block of N. Brown Street. He was charged with possession of CDS (marijuana) and released after processing.
August 24 (6:39 am)A resident of the 900 block of Hudson Street reported sometime overnight, unknown person(s) burglarized his vehicle and damaged the ignition while it was parked in front of his house. The investigation is ongoing.
August 24 (8:16 am)A resident of the 800 block of Hudson Street reported sometime after 7:30 am his vehicle was stolen front of his residence. The vehicle was recovered later that night at the Ferry Avenue PATCO Station in Camden. The investigation is ongoing.
August 24 (10:40 am)Tiffany M. Almodovar (19), a resident of Swedesboro, was arrested on Rt. 130 at Market Street by Ptl. George Spingler. She was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic syringe and driving on a suspended license. After processing, she was released.
August 24 (8:13 pm)Michael Burkhardt Jr. (39), a resident of the 100 block of N. Broadway, was arrested on N. Broadway at King Street by Ptl. Mike Calzonetti and K9 Blitz on a warrant from Gloucester City. After processing, he was released on bail.
August 24 (11:40 pm)Kimberlee A. Boden (37), a resident of Lumberton, was arrested on Broadway at Hudson Street by Cpl. Bill Lessig on a warrant from Westhampton Twp. After processing, she was released on bail.
August 25 (1:05 pm)Elizabeth M. Shinn (50), a resident of Westville, was arrested on Nicholson Road at University Avenue by Ptl. Tim Ryder and Shea O’Donnell on warrants from Gloucester City. She was additionally charged with possession of CDS (heroin and crack cocaine) and released on bail after processing.
August 25 (5:13 pm)Ptl. Shea O’Donnell responded to a residence on Linden Street for a reported overdose. Upon arrival, the (43) year old female resident was found unconscious and barely breathing. Ptl. O’Donnell administered one dose of Naloxone and the female regained consciousness. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
August 26 (7:22 am)A resident of Spruce Avenue reported sometime overnight, the driver side window of his vehicle was smashed while parked in his driveway and personal property was stolen from the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
August 26 (9:18 am)A resident of Spruce Avenue reported sometime overnight, the passenger side window of her vehicle was smashed while parked in her driveway and personal property was stolen from the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
August 26 (8:21 pm)Officers responded to Market and Burlington Streets for a report of a fight. During the course of the investigation, Tracy A. Mahoney (43), a resident of the 200 block of Powell Street, was arrested for disorderly conduct. She was additionally charged with resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. After processing, she was released. It was also determined that a juvenile female was injured during the fight between two males, who had left the scene prior to police arrival. The juvenile sustained a minor injury when the two males fighting fell onto her. The males have been identified and no charges have been signed at this time.
August 27 (1:10 pm)Melinda Rodriguez (44), a resident of Camden City, was arrested on Rt. 130 at Market Street by Ptl. John Bryszewski on a warrant from Woodbury. She was additionally charged with driving on a suspended license and turned over to Woodbury Police after processing.
August 28 (7:19 pm)A traffic stop on Broadway at Essex Street conducted by Ptl. Shea O’Donnell and Tim Ryder resulted in the arrests of the following individuals: Andrew J. Bourquin (22), a resident of Sewell, was arrested on a warrant from Deptford Twp. After processing, he was turned over to Deptford Police. Tricia L. Neapolitano (45), a resident of Sewell, was arrested on a warrant from Evesham Twp. After processing, she was released on bail.
August 28 (11:29 pm)Timothy S. White (37), a resident of Winslow Twp, was arrested on Rt. 130 at Market Street by Ptl. George Spingler on a warrant from the Camden County Sheriff’s Department. After processing, he was remanded to Camden County Jail.
August 29 (7:00 am)John L. Ash (61), a resident of the 600 block of Division Street, was arrested on Broadway at Market Street by Cpl. Bill Lessig on warrants from Gloucester City. After processing, he was released on bail.
August 29 (2:53 pm)Joseph B. Sweeney (34), a resident of Paulsboro, was arrested on Broadway at King Street by Cpl. Bill Lessig on warrants from Gloucester City. He was additionally charged with hindering apprehension and possession of a hypodermic syringe. After processing, he was remanded to Camden County Jail.
August 29 (4:01 pm)Andrew C. Stosny (26), a resident of Blackwood, was arrested on Broadway at King Street by Ptl. Sean Saunders and Tim Ryder on warrants from Gloucester City. He was additionally charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and remanded to Camden County Jail after processing.

Burkett (22), a resident of Westville, was arrested and charged with possession of CDS (marijuana) and released after processing.
August 30 (8:58 pm)Justin R. Fisher (37), a resident of Gloucester City, was arrested on Burlington Street at Essex Street by Ptl. Blaise O’Donnell and K9 Demo on warrants from Gloucester City and Deptford Twp. After processing, he was released on bail.
