Congressman Frank LoBiondo, Representing NJ's 2nd District
First responders are critical in ensuring our communities are safe. This week nearly a half-million in federal dollars was awarded to Wildwood for the recruitment and training of new firefighters. An additional $28,000 was awarded to theAbsecon Fire Company for safety equipment. These grants are vital in providing for firefighters across South Jersey. Since the program began in 2001, the 2ndCongressional district’s emergency response organizations have received more than $70 million. I continue to strongly support the men and women who protect our lives and property, while advocating for more resources to help them do their jobs.
Additionally, the Millville Airport was just awarded $3.6 million to rehabilitate its runways and lighting. A key strategy to bringing additional economic opportunities to South Jersey has been the growth and development at our local airports. With more than $100 million invested at various facilities over the past decade, we have made substantial improvements to South Jersey’s airports to attract more businesses and more jobs.
SOUTH JERSEY "HOT PIC"
|I recently visited the “It’s About Community” organic farm in Belleplain where developmentally disabled adults engage in South Jersey’s agriculture tradition. It was a pleasure to meet with founder Chris Devaney and congratulate the team on their success. Check out more photos onInstagram.|
