Gloucester City Police Arrest Man Who Crashed Car and 9 Suspects on Outstanding Warrants

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (July 12, 2017)--Gloucester City Police arrested the driver of a Images-2vehicle that crashed on 3rd Street earlier this week. The driver fled the scene on foot and was captured a block away. Also last week the police arrested nine suspects wanted on *outstanding warrants.

According to the weekly crime report on July 11 (6:31 pm) Ptl. Blaise O’Donnell and K9 Demo responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in the 200 block of 3rd. Street.  Upon arrival, witnesses reported the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene on foot.   O’Donnell located the driver on Hunter Street at 4th.  A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Jon D. Padula (28), a resident of Palmyra.  He was charged with possession of CDS (heroin and synthetic marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic syringes, hindering apprehension by concealment of evidence and driving on a suspended license.  He was also charged with numerous motor vehicle violation and remanded to Camden County Jail after processing.

 In other matters; 

*July 7 (11:41 pm) Melissa A. Kille (40), a resident of the 200 block of Essex Street, was arrested on N. Burlington Street at Essex by Ptl. Mike Calzonetti and K9 Blitz on a warrant from Camden City.  She was additionally charged with possession of CDS (crack cocaine and heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic syringes.  After processing, she was released on bail.

 

*July 9 (7:19 pm) Joseph T. Taylor (27), a resident of Dukewood Avenue, was arrested on Broadway at Hudson Street by Ptl. Barb Kane on warrants from Deptford Twp, Howell Twp. and Westville.  After processing, he was turned over to Howell Twp. Police.

 

*July 9 (7:40 pm) Emily C. Tobin (35), a resident of the 300 block of Hudson Street, was arrested on Broadway at Market Street by Cpl. Bill Johnson on a warrant from Delran.  She was additionally charged with bail jumping and released on bail after processing.

 

*July 9 (8;30 pm) Edward L. String Jr. (34), a resident of Bellmawr, was arrested in the 1300 block of Rt. 130 by Ptl. Mike Calzonetti and K9 Blitz on a warrant from Bellmawr.  He was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released on bail after processing.

 

*July 9 (8:56 pm) Wyneshia Steed (35), a resident of the 300 block of Mercer Street, was arrested at her residence by Ptl. George Spingler on warrants from Gloucester City.  After processing, she was remanded to Camden County Jail.

 

*July 9 (9:42 pm) Cpl. Bill Johnson and Ptl. George Spingler stopped a male on Morris Street at N. Burlington for a traffic violation.  The male was found to have a warrant for his arrest from Gloucester City and the male fled from the officers on foot.  After a short foot pursuit through several yards, the male was arrested in the 200 block of N. Burlington Street.  Robert C. Thiede III (20), a resident of the 300 block of Morris Street, was charged with possession of CDS (marijuana), possession with intent to distribute, distribution within 500 feet of a park, defiant trespass, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.  After processing, he was remanded to Camden County Jail.

 

*July 10 (10:00 am) Ryan A. Ellis (34), a resident of West Deptford, was arrested on Market Street at Sparks Avenue by Ptl. Joe Eller on a warrant from Elk Twp.  He was additionally charged with driving on a suspended license and released on bail after processing.

 

July 10 (3:15 pm) Alicia M. Spiegel (21), a resident of Pine Hill, was arrested on Rt. 130 at Market Street by Ptl. Tim Ryder and Shea O’Donnell.  She was charged with possession of CDS (heroin and crack cocaine) and possession of hypodermic syringes.  After processing, she was released.

 

*July 10 (10:05 pm) Vernon L. Scott (33), a resident of Camden, was arrested in the 1300 block of Rt. 130 by Lt. Steve Burkhardt on warrants from Camden City, Clementon, and Pennsauken.  He was additionally charged with driving on a suspended license and released on bail after processing.

 

 

*July 12 (10:25 pm) Sean P. Howey (35), a resident of Woodbury, was arrested on Broadway at Mercer Street by Sgt. Jim Little on warrants from Camden City.  After processing, he was released on bail.

 

In addition, officers conducted (31) traffic stops and (120) property/business checks.  Officers made (13) arrests, investigated (5) motor vehicle crashes, and (7) domestic disputes and (1) abandoned vehicle was impounded.  Officers issued (42) criminal charges, (11) city ordinance charges, (30) traffic citations and managed (207) calls for service between July 7h. and July 11th.
