Cape May Authorities Investigating Hazardous Materials Scene in Middle Township

Cape May Court House, New Jersey - Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Middle Township Police Chief Christopher Leusner announce police are currently investigating a hazardous materials scene in the 600 block of Dias Creek Road in Middle Township.
At approximately 4:06 AM, Middle Township Patrol Officers and Middle Township EMS were called to a residence on Dias Creek Road for a report of medical assistance. Upon arriving they found Sarah Louthe, 26 years old, who had a non life threatening chemical burn.
Detectives from the Middle Township Police Department, the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office, and the Cape May County CBRNE Team responded and conducted an investigation. According to Detectives, the chemicals at this residence are legal to purchase and the burn received by Louthe was accidental. Louthe later refused medical treatment. At the time of this release, no charges were filed as a result of this investigation and the residence was determined to be safe.
Prosecutor Taylor advises that this is on ongoing investigation and this incident continues to be investigated by detectives from the Prosecutor's Office and the Middle Township Police Department.
