Officers Exposed to Unknown Substance

CHERRY HILL, NJ--The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Cherry Hill Police Department reported an incident that occurred in Cherry Hill this morning, May 31, 2017.

Police responded to the 200 block of Heritage Road in Cherry Hill to a report of a possible overdose at approximately 9:05 a.m. Once Officers arrived, they located the decedent in her residence.

While processing the scene, two Law Enforcement Officers, a Detective with the Cherry Hill Police department as well as a Detective with the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, were exposed to an unknown substance.

Both Detectives were treated at the scene and then taken to Cooper University Hospital for observation and have since been released.

Residents in the area are in no immediate danger, this was an isolated incident.

The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
