Winslow Police Conduct Undercover Sting, Arrest Suspects Selling Stolen Property on Craigslist

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP (MARCH 29, 2017)--The Winslow Township police 6a00d8341bf7d953ef01b8d2446f75970c-200widepartment arrested two people who allegedly were selling appliances on Craigslist stolen from a property that they didn't own. As a result of an undercover sting, the Winslow police were successful in arresting the suspects. The police released the following statement regarding the incident.

March 27,  Winslow Twp. Police were contacted by Remax Preferred of Marlton regarding the fraudulent sale of appliances from a foreclosed property. The managing agent of 56 Wagon Wheel Drive, which is in the Sicklerville section of Winslow Twp., advised that someone posted an ad on Craigslist advertising the sale of a new stove from the residence. The property is in foreclosure and no one has authorization to sell anything from the residence. Detectives contacted the seller and arranged to purchase the stove from the property. Joseph Perry Jr. and Kimberly Perry met undercover detectives at the residence, and implied that they recently purchased the property and were replacing the appliances with their own. Both accused unlawfully entered the property and were arrested without incident after trying to sell the stove to an undercover officer. They were charged with burglary, theft, conspiracy, and possession of burglary tools. The accused are partners in the business Martin and Perry Contracting and Cleanout. Joseph was remanded to Camden County Jail and Kimberly was released pending court.

Winslow Township Police Lt. Christopher Dubler said, "This is another ongoing problem we are attempting to combat in the wake of the influx of foreclosed properties in our neighborhoods. Once again, we urge residents to be vigilant of items they are buying, or homes they are renting that are listed on social media sites. Additionally, those who wish to engage in selling or renting a property that is not legally theirs, also need to be vigilant as their "customers" could actually be undercover police detectives attempting to stop these actions and make appropriate arrests."
