An analysis by NJ Spotlight has led to a bipartisan effort to reform New Jersey's flawed sick and vacation leave system, which has let public workers amass nearly $2 billion in unused sick and vacation days. Three Republican senators have reached out to Democrats in both houses and asked them for help reforming the system.
JIM JOHNSON FILES ELECTION LAW COMPLAINT AGAINST PHIL MURPHY
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jim Johnson has filed a complaint with the Election Law Enforcement Commission against frontrunner and fellow Democrat Phil Murphy. WBGO says Johnson claims Murphy violated state election law by using non-profit political and social welfare groups to avoid disclosing the source of campaign contributions and expenditures.

A report by WalletHub ranks the most and least federally dependent states in the country, and New Jersey comes in as the third-least dependent state (Kentucky is the most dependent). The report found that New Jersey was also in the top five when it comes to the lowest amount of federal contracts received, federal grants received, and other federal assistance received.
