GTPD: Traffic Safety Advisory: Blackwood Kiwanis Parade Saturday April 1st 8AM

The Gloucester Township Police Department (GTPD) released the following traffic alert for Saturday, April 1, 2017
On Saturday, April 1st, 2017, Blackwood Kiwanis Little League will be holding their annual opening day parade. The parade begins at 8:00 am in the Rite Aid parking lot on the Black Horse Pike (Route 168) and proceeds south to Marshall Avenue. The parade ends at the Kiwanis Little League field located on Railroad Avenue.
During the parade, the Black Horse Pike will be temporarily closed to all traffic from Church Street to Davistown Road between 8:00 am to 9:00 am. Additionally, no parking will be allowed on the Black Horse Pike between Church Street and Marshall Avenue. Drivers are encouraged to follow the marked detour route to avoid delays. Officers will also be stationed at closure points to assist with directions. The detour route is as follows; Southbound Route 168 to Church Street to Erial Road to Davistown Road to Route 168. Northbound traffic is Route 168 to Davistown Road to Erial Road to Church Street to Route 168. Drivers are asked to use caution when in the area. To avoid delays, drivers should seek an alternate route of travel.

The marked detour route for northbound Erial Road is Erial-Clementon Road to Hickstown Road. Southbound Erial Road will be Hickstown Road to Erial-Clementon Road. Residents who reside on Williamstown Rd between Jarvis Rd and Erial Road can access their homes from Jarvis Road.
