February 2017 Crime Report:
BROOKLAWN NJ (March 14, 2017)--The Brooklawn Police Department is investigating an attempted burglary in the 200 block of New Jersey Avenue along with the report of a vacant home being robbed of copper pipes.
According to police on February 8 a resident from the 200 block of New Jersey Avenue came to police headquarters to report that someone attempted to break into his residence around 11pm the night before. He found his rear sliding door ajar after his alarm went off. The resident did not see anyone fleeing the area. Anyone with information regarding this incident please contact the Brooklawn Police.
With regards to the other incident, on February 21 officers responded to 211 Fifth Street for a report of a theft from an unoccupied residence. Sometime between February 2 and February 21 an unknown suspect(s) entered the residence through an unsecured window and cut the copper pipe from the basement. 2/1/17 Andrew Blasé Fardone, 24, of National Park was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. Through further investigation the accused was found to be in possession marijuana. He was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and released with a municipal court date.
2/5/17 Unknown actor(s) broke two vehicles windows out in the Westbrook Bowling Alley’s parking lot in the early morning hours. Nothing was taken from the vehicles. If anyone has any information about the incident please contact the Brooklawn Police Department.
2/6/17 An unknown suspect(s) broke into an unlocked vehicle on the 300 block of New Broadway sometime overnight. The suspect(s) took the change from the center console of the vehicle. Anyone with any information regarding this incident please contact the Brooklawn Police Department.
2/7/17 Officers responded to the Rite Aid for the report of counterfeit money. A white female in her mid 20’s with dark hair attempted to pass the $50.00 bill. Officers took the counterfeit money and mailed to the Secret Service for further investigation. Anyone with information pertaining to this incident please contact the Brooklawn Police.
2/8/17 Officers responded to the Shoprite for a shoplifting where the loss prevention officer was assaulted. Officers were able to obtain a New Jersey Registration for the vehicle that the suspects fled the scene in. The two suspects concealed over $100.00 worth of baby formula in the female’s purse. Through further investigation two suspects were positively identified. On 2/9/17 officers arrested Antoine Dujuan Lennon, 39, of Sicklerville and Heather Lynn Ellis, 32, of Gloucester City. Lennon was charged with Robbery and remanded to the Camden County Jail. Ellis was charged with shoplifting and Robbery and was also remanded to the Camden County Jail.
2/10/17 Officers responded to the Rite Aid for a report of two black females who had just shoplifted from the store. One of the females concealed over $170.00 worth of Alegra and Clartin in her purse. The two fled the scene in an older model dark colored car. 2/11/17 Officers observed graffiti markings on the concrete power line by the West Traffic Circle. Anyone with information regarding the graffiti markings around town please contact the Brooklawn Police.
2/11/17 Officers responded to the Ray Bets Liquor Store for shoplifting that occurred. A black male concealed a bottle of Grey Goose in his waist band and exited the store. Anyone with information regarding this incident please contact the Brooklawn Police.
2/16/17 Officers responded to the Rite Aid for a white male who had just committed a shoplifting. The male wearing a black coat with light colored blue jeans loaded his shopping cart with 3 cases of ensure into a Dunkin Donuts bag. The male was last seen walking north through the parking lot. 2/18/17 Officers stopped a male behind the American Legion on the railroad tracks. Through further investigation he was found to be in possession of 4 bags of heroin. James Daniel Bradley, 49, of Riverside was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and defiant trespassing. He was released with a superior court date.
2/20/17 Mantua Detectives were following up an investigation at the Swap Shop and observed a female in a vehicle about to inject herself with heroin. Brooklawn Officers responded and placed the female under arrest. Jessica Lee Eastman, 30, of Sicklerville was also found to be in possession of multiple hypodermic needles and empty wax paper, a cut straw, and an empty black vile. She was charged with Possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a hypodermic needle and released with a superior court date.
2/21/17 Officers were dispatched to Browning Road for a report of a robbery that just took place. Female victim stated as she was walking across Browning Road near the WAWA she was approached by her cousin, a male that she knew, and another male that she did not know. She stated the unidentified male pulled a knife on her and pushed her down between two cars demanding money. Actors got away with $67.00. Victim stated it’s known that her cousin abuses drugs and she does not know where he is staying. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police.
2/22/17 During the course of a suspicious motor vehicle investigation at the Conoco Gas Station Kevin Scott McQuaid, 45, of Gloucester City was arrested for driving while intoxicated. McQuaid was issued numerous driving summonses and released to a sober friend.
2/22/17 Officers on directed patrol in the area of the railroad tracks observed a male walking on the railroad tracks. Nicholas Daniel Coffin, 20, of Westville was stopped and issued a special complaint for trespassing. He was released on scene.
2/23/17 Officers responded to the 200 block of 5th Street for a fight between two males. Daniel Sean Connelly, 36, of Brooklawn was arrested for obstruction and resisting arrest after not obeying officers orders when they arrived on scene. Also arrested was Lynn Marie Amatrudo, 41, of Brooklawn for obstruction. Both were released with a municipal court date.
2/24/17 Officers were dispatched to the Shopping Center Parking Lot for a male who appeared intoxicated and was asking people for money. Officers located Joseph Carl Tice, 30, of Thorofare and through further investigation was found to be in possession of two hypodermic needles. He was charged with possession of hypodermic needles and released with a municipal court date.
2/25/17 Officers responded to the Shoprite for a report of a shoplifter in custody Raymond Paul Tomlinson, 34, of Bellmawr was placed under arrest. He was charged with two counts of shoplifting after it was discovered that the accused shoplifted on 2/17/17. Tomlinson stole $21.00 worth of items on the 17th and over $50.00 worth of merchandise on the 25th. He was released with a pending municipal court date.
2/25/17 Officers responded to the Motel 6 for a well being check on a juvenile female. Through further investigation officers located a jar of marijuana, a metal grinder, and a digital scale located in the motel room. Zachary Christian McGrory, 19, of Brooklawn was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released with a municipal court date.
2/27/17 On the 300 block of New Broadway unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle and removed change from the center console sometime during the overnight hours. 2/28/17 Terik Lance Bryant, 20, of Woodbury and Deschaun Raquon Miller, 19, of West Deptford were stopped for a motor vehicle violation. During the course of the motor stop officers located a metal grinder. Both were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
2/28/17 During the course of a motor vehicle stop the driver gave the officer false information regarding his identity. Through further investigation the officer identified the suspect as Terron Kallef Santos, 23, of Camden. He was charged with hindering and released with a municipal court date.
