Robert Gittle Arrested by Cape May County Authorities on Child Pornography Charges

Cape May Court House, New Jersey (January 25)- Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Lower Township Police Chief William Mastriana announce the arrest of Robert Gittle, a 25-year-old male from Villas, New Jersey.
Subsequent to a lengthy investigation, which stemmed from an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force operation, a male later identified as Robert Gittle, was allegedly sending videos/images of suspected Child Pornography via the internet. On January 24, 2017, a Court Authorized Search Warrant was executed at a residence in 400 block of Forest Avenue in the Villas section of Lower Township by members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office High Technology Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the Lower Township Police Department.
Pursuant to the search warrant, Gittle was arrested on January 24, 2017, and charged with: Manufacturing Child Pornography (Crime of the Second Degree), Possession of Child Pornography with the Intent to Distribute (Crime of Second Degree), Distribution of Child Pornography (Crime of the Second Degree), Possession of Child Pornography (Crime of the Third Degree), Possession of Child Pornography/File Sharing Program (Crime of the Second Degree), Possession of Marijuana Under 50 grams (Disorderly Persons Offense), and two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Disorderly Persons Offense).
Prosecutor Taylor would like to recognize the ICAC Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations, the New Jersey State Police, Digital Technology Unit, and the Lower Township Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
Prosecutor Taylor advises that individuals charged with a second-degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of five to ten years in New Jersey State Prison, and individuals charged with a third-degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of three to five years in New Jersey
State Prison and individuals charged with a Disorderly Persons Offense are subject to a term of imprisonment of fewer than six months in the County Jail.
This investigation is part of the ongoing effort by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, to identify those involved in the child pornography trade.
