CNB CRIME: Maple Shade Police Arrest Two in Healthcare Insurance Fraud Scheme

Maple Shade, NJ --Chief Gary C. Gubbei announced today the successful arrest of two individuals that committed healthcare insurance fraud and theft after a two month long investigation.

Salvatore A. Yacovelli, 45, of Barrington, NJ and Gina M. Yacovelli, also known as Gina Jean, 37, of Barrington, NJ were each charged with 2nd degree Insurance Fraud and 3rd degree Theft.

Salvatore A. Yacovelli was processed and released pending Court on Wednesday 1/25/17. Gina M. Yacovelli was processed and released pending Court on Thursday 1/26/17.

Salvatore A. Yacovelli while employed by the Maple Shade School District failed to disclose his divorce from Gina M. Yacovelli to his employer and continued her health insurance coverage with his employer in excess of four years. The Maple Shade School District paid in excess of $47,000.00 for this continued coverage.

Chief Gubbei stated that in a time when rising healthcare insurance costs are a nationwide concern, crimes like this directly impact the local taxpaying community as well as the community at large.
