Former chairman, Tom Booth, resigns after being confirmed as a superior court judge
VOORHEES – Camden County Republican Party Vice Chairwoman Shelley Lovett announced today the CCGOP will hold an election to replace outgoing chairman Tom Booth on Wednesday January 25, 2017 at 7:00 PM.
Booth resigned earlier this month upon being confirmed as a Judge of the Superior Court.
“We’re all very proud of Tom and sorry to see him go.” Shelley Lovett said. “He was an excellent chairman who wasn’t afraid to take on the tough fights and worked hard every day to build our party. I know if he is as dedicated to the law as he was to being a chairman, the court system is lucky to have him.”
Party rules require the Vice Chair to call an election to fill the vacancy created by the resignation within 30 days. Lovett provided notice of the election via letter to all committee members dated January 16, 2017.
“I look forward to assisting the next chairman in building upon the foundation laid by Chairman Booth,” Lovett said.
