George J. Giessner, on December 25, 2016, of Deptford. Age 93.
Beloved husband of Edna M. (nee Woertz) for 58 years. Devoted father of George J. Giessner, Jr., Peter A. Giessner (Thuy), John “Jack” B. Giessner, Charles F. Giessner (Eleanor), Dorothy A. Kraynik (Bill), Mary L. Baugher (James), Robert C. Giessner, and Joseph D. Giessner (Nell Forgacs). Loving grandfather of Stephanie, Christopher, Paul, Timothy, Nathaniel, Daniel, David, John, Amanda, Sarah, Melanie, and Sadie. Dear brother of the late Bernard Giessner and Cecile Cantlin. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and second cousins.
Mr. Giessner served with the US Army Air Corps as a P47 pilot during WW II. He graduated with Honors in 1956 from Drexel University Evening School with a BS in Electrical Engineering and earned his Professional Engineering License in 1956. George worked at ITE/Gould designing circuit breakers. He holds multiple patents and was a VP of Engineering at Heinemann Electric Company.
There will be a viewing from 7 to 9pm Thursday eve and from 9:30 to 10:15am Friday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, BELLMAWR, 200 S. Black Horse Pike, Bellmawr, NJ 08031 (856-931-9450).
Funeral Mass 11am Friday at Holy Child Parish, St. Teresa RC Church, Runnemede.
Interment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
