A Christmas Carol Comes To Skylands Stadium In Free One-Man Show


Acclaimed actor Paul Meacham to perform the Charles Dickens classic in the Skylands Stadium Christmas Village on December 10 and 23

Augusta, N.J. – December 1, 2016 – The tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation from greedy miser to kind-hearted soul has long been beloved as a holiday favorite. On Saturday, December 10 at 6:15 pm and Friday, December 23 at 6 pm, this heartwarming story comes to Skylands Stadium, as acclaimed actor Paul Meacham performs his one-man show of A Christmas Carol free of charge inside the Skylands Stadium Christmas Village.


Families are welcome to join in the Christmas spirit, as Meacham takes his audience through this treasured story of the heartless Scrooge and his three-night journey to becoming a charitable champion of Christmas. Step into the Christmas Village at Skylands Stadium in Augusta, NJ and watch as Meacham, donning Scrooge’s famous top hat and cane, performs a 30-minute excerpt from the timeless holiday tale. Admission is free to both the Christmas Village and to this standing room only show.


Meacham has portrayed Ebenezer Scrooge for 11 seasons in the Tri-State Actors Theater’s production of A Christmas Carol and his work as the famous Charles Dickens character has earned him acclaim with the Times Herald-Record’s Best Actor Award. For two special nights at Skylands Stadium, Meacham will bring the 173-year old story to life for any and all families that want a free slice of local theater and Christmas joy.


In addition to the performance of A Christmas Carol, the Christmas Village will feature a wide variety of special live performances from local artists nearly every night. One of the event’s most intriguing artists will be Stephanie Jasper of Mountain Murals and Music of Hamburg, who will be enlisting the help of patrons inside the Christmas Village to illustrate a holiday-inspired mural. Families can participate in this interactive art creation Friday December 16 through Sunday, December 18. Local area choirs, bands and dance studios will also enact holiday-themed performances on many of the remaining nights of the show. For a full list of performers, please visit


The Christmas Village is located in the Events Center at Skylands Stadium in Augusta, NJ and will be open on select dates from now through December 23. Admission into the Christmas Village is free, though some features inside the village may incur a cost to participate. Families are encouraged to bring new or gently used toys to the Christmas Village, as Toys For Tots will be accepting donations inside.


The Christmas Village is also part of the Skylands Stadium Christmas Light Show, which is located outside in the Skylands Stadium parking lot. The Christmas Light Show is a one-mile drive-through course featuring over 2 million twinkling lights sculpted into holiday-themed sculptures. The Christmas Light Show is running now through January 1 and admission is $20 per carload.
