Saint Mary Roman Catholic School, in Schwenksville Celebrates 55th Anniversary Today

SCHWENKSVILLE PA--Saint Mary Roman Catholic School, in Schwenksville (Montgomery County) will celebrate its 55th anniversary as a school community with an all class reunion and gala.   The school first opened its doors in 1961.

Reverend Louis P. Bellopede, current Pastor of Saint Mary, will be the main celebrant of a Homecoming Mass to kick-off the reunion and gala, which will also include tours of the school led by current students, faculty, and staff.  The celebration will conclude with a sold-out gala dinner, hosted in the Parish Hall, with entertainment including:  vignettes from the school’s 2016 spring musical, as well as, stories from past and present staff, alumni, and friends. 


Saint Mary's began with a church converted from a creamery purchased in 1923 through the efforts of 25 parish families. In 1961 a four-classroom school with a hall at the south end was built, followed by a convent.
