The five loans are being provided by the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Trust (NJEIT), an independent state financing agency, in partnership with the DEP. "The Christie Administration has worked with officials in cities that deal with the discharges from these antiquated combined-sewer systems in a manner that is environmentally responsible and reasonably achievable," Commissioner Martin said. Hot on the heels of the online outrage over YG's "Meet the Flockers" song (which encouraged the targeting of Chinese for robbery), some 2,000 Chinese protested about crime in Philadelphia and dozens of them carried guns. It was the first time Chinese-Americans protested with guns, albeit unloaded for the demonstration. The message was clear. They object to the targeting of Chinese for crime and will defend themselves. This is a message Chen Fengzhu in Georgia delivered loud and clear, when she used a gun to defend her home against three armed robbers, with one of them ending up dead. According to Philly News, City Councilman David Oh told the Philadelphia protestors that he called for a council hearing on October 31, to tackle "crimes of violence that target Chinese business owners, particularly restaurant owners." This protest is the latest in a string of protests on the same issue in the...

N.J. Sierra Club press release October 24, 2016--A former Superfund site in Edison was dedicated today as a new dog park. The event included the New Jersey Sierra Club, Edison Wetlands Association (EWA), Congressman Frank Pallone Jr., Edison Mayor Thomas Lankey, and Middlesex County Freeholder Charles Tomaro. The site formerly housed the Chemical Insecticide Corp. that operated from 1958 until 1970 and manufactured pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides, including Agent Orange. Years later hazardous chemicals were found and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency completed a $53 million cleanup in 2005, removing 250,000 cubic tons of soil and restoring the site. The township then bought the property in 2008 for $1 million with money from the township's Open Space Trust Fund and a state Green Acres Grant. Edison and Metuchen will share the dog park maintenance and its residents will enjoy the new area for recreation. Jeff Tittel, Director of the New...

Rigging the Election – Video III: Creamer Confirms Hillary Clinton Was PERSONALLY Involved Published on Oct 24, 2016 (source Project Veritas Action) Part III of the undercover Project Veritas Action investigation dives further into the back room dealings of Democratic politics. It exposes prohibited communications between Hillary Clinton’s campaign, the DNC and the non-profit organization Americans United for Change. And, it’s all disguised as a duck. In this video, several Project Veritas Action undercover journalists catch Democracy Partners founder directly implicating Hillary Clinton in FEC violations. “In the end, it was the candidate, Hillary Clinton, the future president of the United States, who wanted ducks on the ground,” says Creamer in one of the several exchanges. “So, by God, we would get ducks on the ground.” It is made clear that high-level DNC operative Creamer realized that this direct coordination between Democracy Partners and the campaign would be damning when...

Chaput of Philadelphia is encouraging Catholic voters to place their faith above their allegiance to political parties. “I’m always encouraging our people minimally to vote, maximally to run for political office, and make sure that they’re Catholic prior to being Democrat or Republican and that they put that into practice politically,” he told CNA in Rome on Oct. 22. Archbishop Chaput echoed the calls of other American bishops to have their flocks consider their faith in the voting booth. “We do believe in the separation of church and state, but we don’t believe in the separation of faith from our political life,” he said. “It’s very important for Catholics to make distinctions when voting that they never support intrinsic evils like abortion, which...

October 21, 2016 Bill Donohue | The Catholic League Bill Donohue comments on reaction to Donald Trump's criticisms of partial-birth abortion: Lying about abortion is a cottage industry, so it was hardly surprising to learn that pro-abortion advocates would label Donald Trump a liar for telling the truth about partial-birth abortion. The presidential election is 17 days away. Whoever wins will face a range of difficult issues, including the politically perilous task of reforming the federal tax code. On October 22, it will have been 30 years since Congress and the president came together to tackle tax reform. Yet, there is a rare consensus that the federal tax code must be overhauled, and even bipartisan agreement on specific reforms. One area of agreement is corporate taxes. Corporate tax policy is hurting U.S. competitiveness and economic growth. Productivity growth, workforce participation, and median household income have been on the decline since the late 1990s. Increasing globalization has intensified the problems with our corporate tax code, particularly the high U.S. corporate tax rate and our system of taxing international income. Not only is reforming the tax code critical to improving U.S. competitiveness, it is essential to achieving a sustainable federal budget. The path...

press release (October 21, 2016)--The DEP held a public hearing yesterday to discuss its plan to designate a formal drought warning for 12 counties in the northeastern, central and northern coastal regions of New Jersey. These counties include Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Somerset and Union.
