The Wildwoods, NJ –  – The Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority’s (GWTIDA) John Siciliano was named a finalist in the ‘Best Growth Manager’ category for the NJBIZ CFO of the Year Award for 2016.

The 2016 NJBIZ CFO of the Year Awards program celebrates those New Jersey financial executives who contribute to the success of New Jersey’s economic growth and stability. GWTIDA and Suasion Communications Group nominated Siciliano for his outstanding executive leadership in his role as Executive Director/CFO at GWTIDA.

The top six CFO’s were selected from a field of elite companies statewide. Other companies whose CFO’s were honored included Hackensack Meridian Health Network, Case Real Estate Capital LLC, STOPit, Commvault, and Modway, Inc.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized as a finalist alongside these accomplished CFO’s,” said GWTIDA Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer Siciliano. “My goal with the Board of Directors and staff of GWTIDA is to continually implement new and innovative ways to retain our position as a leader in the travel and tourism industry,” he added.

Siciliano is the most visible proponent of executive leadership for GWTIDA – which was formed in July 1993 to consolidate the tourism economy of its three founding municipalities: Wildwood, Wildwood Crest and North Wildwood. GWTIDA has been at the forefront of the Wildwoods’ resurgence as a first-class family vacation destination. The success is illustrated by the record-breaking tourism numbers recently reported for 2015 – including $1.5 billion in tourism spending in the Wildwoods during the year – a 4.9% increase over 2014.

Since 2010, the Wildwoods have continued to see growth across the board, averaging 3.8% growth per annum. There was also an increase in direct tourism employment – those jobs that directly interact with the visitor. The Wildwoods saw a 2.2% growth in 2015 with 5,660 jobs and $170 million in wages and benefits. Tourism generated a total of $129 million in state and local taxes in 2015 – $5 million over the 2014 figures.

NJBIZ hosted an awards ceremony recognizing all of the finalists on October 14. The ceremony was well attended by major business corporations representing all industries throughout the Garden State.
