YOUR MONEY: $300 Million in Grants Awarded to Help Homelessness Veterans

Cherry Hill, NJ-Rep. Donald Norcross  has announced the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded $300 million in grants to help very low-income veteran families prevent homelessness.

Among the recipients of the grant award, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Camden, Inc., which will receive $1,299,852.

“Veterans and homelessness are two words that should never be in the same sentence. Our heroes deserve better. I’m certain this federal grant to Catholic Charities will ensure that heroes in need can get the assistance they have earned,” said Rep. Donald Norcross.

"Six years ago the Veterans Administration selected Catholic Charities, Diocese of Camden as one of 85 non-profits in the United States to operate this critical program which supports low-income veterans and their families.  We are grateful for the continued confidence of the Veterans Administration.  Our Ready Vet Go staff members are passionate advocates for veterans and their families, and we always strive to be wise stewards of funds granted to us to assist those in need," said Executive Director Kevin Hickey.

Other agencies receiving federal grant awards from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs today are: Veterans Multi-Service Center, Inc., which will use $2,047,411 to serve veteran families in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, Cape May, and Salem Counties.
