BROOKLAWN N.J. (September 30, 2016)(CNBNewsnet)—Brooklawn Police Officers
were dispatched by the Camden County Communication Center on Wednesday, September 28 around 6:20pm to the Brooklawn Norse Apartments to investigate calls about a man shooting a shotgun in the rear of the apartments, located in the 300 unit block of Browning Road.
While patrol units were responding, additional information was received about the suspect allegedly discharging a firearm into a vehicle parked in the rear of the apartment complex.
According to the police report, patrol units arrived at the scene and immediately secured a perimeter around the apartment complex . A short time later a male exited the apartment complex who was identified by eyewitnesses as the suspect and taken into custody without incident.
Police said after a thorough investigation it was found that the suspect exited the rear of his apartment and discharged the shotgun into a wooden fence. After discharging the firearm, the suspect returned to his apartment. Two firearms were recovered from the suspect's apartment.
The suspect, Dwayne T. Jones (aka Romeo Puzzo), age 51, of the 300 unit block of Browning Lane was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and aggravated assault.
There were no reported injuries.
Jones is being held in the Camden County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
