GLOUCESTER CITY NJ-- Patrick "Patch" Glennan will travel to the National Catholic Forensics League's Grand Nationals in Sacramento, California this weekend. He will represent both Gloucester Catholic and the Diocese of Camden at the meet.
Glennan won first place in the Diocese in the Extemporaneous category. For the Extemporary category, students select unknown three questions from a group of questions in a specific category (such as Foreign Leaders or Science/Technology). Of those three questions, Glennan will select one that he feels confident to speak on. He will then have 30 minutes to research magazines or information that he has previously stored on his computer (without internet access during the event) and organize a 4-to 7-minute speech for presentation!
Saturday, May 28 he will be required to select and present on four different topics, with the speeches assessed and scored by meet organizers. Those presenters who receive the top qualifying scores on Saturday will advance to Sunday's round to compete in up to four more levels.
