CNB Sports--(WEST DEPTFORD N.J. (May 7, 2016)Finally after a week of rain some Unknown copyhigh school baseball teams in the South Jersey area were able to get back on the diamond.

Gloucester Catholic and West Deptford met Saturday evening for a 6 PM game at West Deptford High School. The Rams jumped out to an early lead on West Deptford and captured a 9-2 victory.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the Rams to put the game away early.

 

An RBI double by Chris Turco and a three-run home run by Lillo Paxia in the first inning and a two-run error and an RBI single by Chris Turco during the second inning gave the Rams the lead and they never looked back. 

Chris Turco racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Rams.

Tyler Mondile kept contact to a minimum, striking out 10 West Deptford batters. The Gloucester Catholic  pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only two hits.

The Rams pushed across one run in both the sixth inning and the seventh. In the sixth, the Rams scored on an RBI double by Turco, scoring Adam Bonomo.
