ZeroWater Expands Successful Filters for Flint Donation Program
Wednesday, April 27, 2016
April 2016 – Bensalem, PA – With almost $200,000 in filter donations to the community of Flint plus additional filters distributed to most schools in the city, ZeroWater is now expanding the Filters for Flint program in an effort to help out the growing list of communities with lead issues expanding beyond Flint.
“We worked to help the residents of Flint because we felt an obligation but are now seeing this lead situation spread to other areas and feel we have the same obligation to help in whatever way we possibly can” states ZeroWater CEO, Doug Kellam.
With the programs expansion, ZeroWater will continue its one for one donation match and will also be pledging an additional $50,000 worth of filters to help continue the efforts in Flint while offering additional assistance to schools and communities nationwide. To start this off, we are currently working with Hip-Hop 4 Flint in collaboration with the City of Newark to get hundreds of 23C devices to the schools being affected by lead contamination. “Our hope is that by expanding the program we get the same outpouring of support for communities beyond Flint” states ZeroWater CEO, Doug Kellam.
The company is also expanding the resources available to encourage lead testing and general lead awareness. Detailed resources for consumers, communities and organizations on how and where they can get water tested properly for lead contamination will be made available at (www.zerowater.com). The company will also be providing free water tests to the first 1,000 schools in need of lead testing assistance as well as access to inexpensive testing sources for anyone else. ZeroWater wants to provide assistance to ensure that no one is unaware of lead issues in their own backyard. The company encourages everyone to test their drinking water for lead, particularly where children are present.
ZeroWater is responding to the unfortunate increase in reports of dangerous levels of lead in drinking water across the country in the wake of the Flint disaster. According to a recent USA Today article “An analysis of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency data showed about 350 schools and day-care centers failed lead tests a total of about 470 times from 2012 through 2015. That represents nearly 20% of the water systems nationally testing above the agency's "action level" of 15 parts per billion.”

About ZeroWater®
The ZeroWater filtration system that is built into each pitcher is the only pour through pitcher that is certified by the NSF to reduce lead to a safe level. The filters remove 99.6% of all total dissolved solids based on EPA certified lab tests. That equates to a 000 measurement on a digital water meter, equivalent to purified water. ZeroWater is the only water filtration system to receive NSF endorsement for its reduction capabilities in chromium-3, chromium-6 and lead.
ZeroWater delivers high performance water filtration to consumers through its patented 5-stage ion exchange filter, which removes virtually all total dissolved solids (TDS). By removing virtually all TDS, ZeroWater is the only gravity-fed filtration system to match the TDS levels found in Purified Bottled Water. ZeroWater is one of the only pour through filtration systems on the market that is NSF certified to meet standards for lead removal as well as other heavy metals. In addition, Good Housekeeping Research Institute findings reveal that ZeroWater filters remove more pharmaceuticals and chemicals than Brita and PUR.
ZeroWater’s products range from a 6 Cup to a 23 Cup pitcher and dispensers, all employed with the patented 5-stage filtration technology that removes 99.6% of TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) offering superior filtered water.
