Voorhees Officer Recovers Loaded Firearm And Drugs During A Motor Vehicle Stop

VOORHEES TWP. NJ APRIL 24, 2016--At approximately 1:11AM, Voorhees Police Sergeant Anthony Del Palazzo initiated a motor vehicle stop on County Highway Route 561 in the area of North Sunset Drive with a red Toyota sedan for motor vehicle violations. Subsequent Police investigation revealed the driver identified as Steven Jean-Louis (30) from the 100 block of Pennypacker Drive, Willingboro, NJ. Two passengers inside the vehicle were identified as Matthew Jean-Louis (24) from the 100 block of Pennypacker Drive, Willingboro, NJ and Tiasha Wallace (25) from the unit block of Winterberry Lane, Willingboro, NJ.
During the course of the stop and subsequent investigation, Officers located a loaded 9mm handgun, marijuana and narcotic paraphernalia. The occupants were each charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of controlled dangerous substance, possession of narcotic paraphernalia. In addition, Mr. Steven Jean-Louis was also charged with several motor vehicle violations including an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. All involved were remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000 bail. This matter is pending in Superior Court in Camden, New Jersey.
