The Rams hang on against St. Augustine Prep, 4-3

 

CNBNEWSNET (APRIL 24, 2016)--St. Augustine Prep wasn't able to overcome the big hole it Iramsdug itself into against Gloucester Catholic, and Prep lost 4-3 to the Rams after falling behind by four runs in the fourth inning.

St. Augustine Prep scored on an RBI double by Chillari in the fourth inning and a groundout by Bermudez and an RBI single by Skinner in the seventh inning. Despite its efforts, St. Augustine Prep couldn't get over the hump.

 Evan Giordano put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Rams. He doubled in the first and third innings.

Tyler Mondile got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered eight hits.

The Rams didn't relinquish the lead after scoring three runs in the third inning when they scored on a sacrifice fly by Lillo Paxia and two singles.

Gloucester Catholic faces Gloucester High on Tuesday at Gloucester High. First pitch 4PM.
