WOODBURY NJ April 29, 2016--At Wednesday’s, May 4, 2016, fifth annual Victim’s Remembrance Ceremony, sponsored by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, the mother of a girl who died in a domestic violence incident will speak about progress she has seen in victim’s rights.
The ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the Gloucester County Criminal Justice Complex, Hunter and Euclid Streets, Woodbury. The location is near a garden created in 2012 in front of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. Arranged among the plantings are river stones bearing the hand-painted names of victims of violence dating back to the 1970s. One of those is AmyLynn Schanz, a Washington Township teenager who died at the hands of a boyfriend in 1991.
Amy’s mother, Debbie Schanz, is the ceremony keynote speaker. Talented Washington Township singer Michael Jones will perform “The Prayer” and “You Raise Me Up.” The public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
