Man Arrested With A Handgun And Drugs During A Motor Vehicle Stop

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP N.J.--On Friday April 22, 2016 at approximately 1:44 AM, Gloucester Township Police officers observed a motor vehicle traveling Eastbound on Blackwood Clementon Road with an unclear license plate. The vehicle was a newer model Mitsubishi Galant, which was occupied by one female driver and one male passenger. Officers conducted the motor vehicle stop and upon walking up to the vehicle, detected the odor of raw marijuana.
Further investigation and search of the vehicle by officers revealed a .9 mm Smith and Wesson handgun. The handgun was found to be loaded with (13) thirteen bullets. Also located during the search was marijuana and prescription medication. The male passenger was taken into custody without incident.
Arrested: Passenger Christopher A. Armour age 28, 100 block of the Lacascata Clementon was charged with Certain Persons Not To Have a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon During a Controlled Dangerous Substance Offense, Distribution of Controlled Dangerous Substance, Distribution of Marijuana, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance Paraphernalia. He was remanded to Camden County Jail in default of $100,000.00 bail.
