HADDON HEIGHTS N.J. April 21, 2016--Haddon Heights Police Department has started their annual Pedestrian Crosswalk Safety Initiative. Plainclothes officers, dressed in “high visibility” colors, were deployed to high foot traffic areas to assess compliance with laws safeguarding pedestrians crossing within roadway crosswalks.

Those motorists not stopping for pedestrians in crosswalks were issued traffic summonses for non-compliance with NJ laws. To date, the Haddon Heights Police Department  has issued (44) summonses, arrested two (2) subjects for CDS offenses, and had one (1) warrant arrest.
