ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard rescued two men Friday after their boat ran aground on the Maurice River near Millville, New Jersey.

Cumberland County Fire Department personnel were unable to conduct a surface rescue due to environmental factors.

The Coast Guard received a request for assistance from the Cumberland County Fire Department, which had personnel on scene with the grounded boat, but could not safely transport the men ashore.

Once on scene, the helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City hoisted the two men and transferred them to awaiting EMS personnel at the Millville Airport.
