CNB Crime: Crest Savings Bank Robbed

Cape May Court House, New Jersey - Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Lower Township Police Chief William Mastriana report that on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 1:34PM, the Lower Township Police responded to a 9-1-1 call of a Robbery at the Crest Savings Bank, located 3306 Bayshore Road in North Cape May, New Jersey. Upon arrival of police the employees stated that a male wearing a ski mask and holding a dark colored automatic handgun entered the bank at 1:30PM and demanded cash.
After obtaining an undetermined amount of cash the male fled running across Bayshore Road into a wooded area. This male is further escribed as a white or Hispanic male approximately 5’7, 145 lbs, wearing all dark clothing.
A subsequent investigation was immediately initiated by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit, the Detective Unit of the Lower Township Police Department, Cape May County Sheriff’s K-9, Delaware River and Bay Authority, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the New Jersey State Police, Aviation Unit.
This investigation is presently ongoing and further details will be forth coming pursuant to the investigation.
