Authorities Arrest Hector E. Cruz Hernandez of North Wildwood for Heroin and Cocaine Sales

Cape May Court House, New Jersey - Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and North Wildwood Police Chief Matt Gallagher announce the arrest of Hector E. Cruz Hernandez, (30) an unemployed resident of North Wildwood for the distribution of heroin and cocaine.

This arrest was the conclusion of a cooperative investigation between the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force and the North Wildwood Police Department’s Detective Division.

Hernandez was arrested on February 24, 2016, during the execution of a court authorized search warrant of his residence located at 113 East 15th Avenue, in the City of North Wildwood. As a result, distribution amounts of heroin and cocaine, valued over $6000.00, were seized as well as a large amount of U.S. Currency.

Hector E. Cruz Hernandez was charged with two counts of Distribution of Heroin and Cocaine, a crime of the third degree, two counts of Possession of Heroin and Cocaine, a crime of the third degree and two counts of Distribution of Heroin and Cocaine within 1000 feet of a school zone, a third degree crime. He was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility in lieu of $35,000.00 full cash bail set by the Honorable Louis Belasco, PJMC.

Prosecutor Taylor advises that persons convicted of a third degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 3 to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison. Prosecutor Taylor stated that his office will continue to work hand in hand with the local municipalities to target anyone selling illegal controlled dangerous substances.
