WILDWOOD POLICE INVESTIGATING SHOTS FIRED

Cape May Court House, New Jersey - Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Wildwood Police Chief Robert Regalbuto report that on January 28, 2016, at approximately 5:50 P.M., the Wildwood Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 East block of Roberts Avenue, Wildwood, New Jersey. Upon arrival, police conducted a cursory search of the area and located several shell casings from a firearm lying on the ground in the 100 East block of Roberts Avenue and no injuries to report.

Members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Scene Unit responded to the area and processed the scene, where items of evidential value were collected. A subsequent investigation is also being conducted by members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Detectives from the Wildwood Police Department and several witnesses were interviewed. This investigation is ongoing and further details will be forth coming pursuant to the investigation.
