Two Camden City Men Arrested in 2013 Camden Homicide

CAMDEN CITY N.J. JANUARY 29, 2016--Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced two Camden men have been apprehended in connection with a 2013 city homicide.

Marcus Williams, 25, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 29-year-old Rasheef Wise of Camden. His co-defendant, Claude Rodriquez, 23, is charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Williams is accused of fatally shooting Wise in the parking lot in front of the Westfield Laundromat on the 3100 block of Westfield Avenue in Camden shortly after 11 p.m. on September 2, 2013. Rodriquez is accused of providing Williams with information about Wise’s whereabouts shortly before the shooting.

Williams was apprehended at his residence on Tuesday by the U.S. Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force. He was arraigned on Wednesday afternoon before Superior Court Judge Edward J. McBride Jr. His bail was set at $1.5 million.

Rodriquez was captured by the Marshals at approximately 12:30 a.m. this morning during a car stop at 36th Street and River Road in Camden. He is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. today before Judge McBride in courtroom 36 at the Camden County Hall of Justice.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
