Voorhees, NJ -- Kennedy Health President & CEO Joseph W. Devine, FACHE, has been named one of the South Jersey/Philadelphia region’s Top CEOs by South Jersey Biz Magazine. He is featured on the magazine’s January 2016 cover, along with several other top CEOs and CFOs selected for the honor. This marks the second time in less than a year that Devine has been recognized by the publication for his dynamic leadership: in the summer of 2015, he was named to South Jersey Biz’s first-ever “Power Players” list of outstanding leaders in the region.
Under Devine’s leadership, Kennedy Health has been honored as one of the “Best Hospitals in the Country” by U.S. News & World Report (2014-2015), as well as being named a “Top Workplace” by Philly.com twice (2014 and 2015). In 2014 and 2015, Kennedy received awards from the Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ network as a top-performing hospital for safe, high-quality, and effective patient care. Also in 2014 and 2015, Kennedy University Hospital’s three locations each received an “A” grade in the Leapfrog Group’s Hospital Safety Score for their ability to prevent errors, injuries and infections.
Devine himself has also been honored time and time again for his extraordinary leadership. In 2015, he received the American College of Healthcare Executives Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent's Award for his contributions toward the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of ACHE goals. In 2014, Mr. Devine was chosen by South Jersey Business People (SJBP) Magazine as one of the region’s “Executives of the Year.” 2014 also saw Mr. Devine honored by the Diocese of Camden and the South Jersey Catholic Medical Association with the St. Luke’s Award for his service to healthcare in the region. That same year, Mr. Devine was also a recipient of the 39th annual Garden State Council Boy Scouts of America Gloucester County Distinguished Citizens Award.
Mr. Devine is a Treasurer of the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) Board of Trustees and serves as Chair of the NJHA Finance Committee. Additionally, he is a board member of the Southern New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, Executive Club Chairman of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce, and is a Commissioner of the South Jersey Transportation Authority.
Devine holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Philadelphia’s St. Joseph’s University. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, its highest level of recognition. The father of two grown daughters, Mr. Devine and his wife, Dina, reside in Washington Township, NJ.
