Statement from Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli
The statement below is by Freeholder DirectorLouis Cappelli in regard to the President of the United States, Barack Obama, recognizing the work of the Camden County Police Department at the International Association of Chiefs of Police:
“Again, another glowing story from the President of the United States, Barack Obama, about the hard work the men and women of the Camden County Police Department are doing in the city. Today, the President took time out of his schedule to speak with police chiefs across the nation about what is working in modern day policing and cited our efforts as a model to the nation. He talked about the hard work of police officers that are walking the beat and engaging residents on a daily basis. He talked about leveraging technology and how that benefits residents and officers and most of all he talked about building trust with the community. It gives the Freeholder Board great pleasure when our employees are recognized by the leader of the free world in a national forum and we believe they are doing an outstanding job. That said, and as I’ve said in the past, we’ve made great strides to make the city and county a safer place, but there is still much work to be done.”
