aenigma is far more than just jewelry. It’s located at 6 Powell Lane in Collingswood, right off Haddon Avenue, just past Collings Avenue. Powell Lane is the street where the large vertical sign for “The Lumberyard” residences is located. It’s a short street with limited parking, so you might try Haddon Avenue instead (good luck with that). A better bet is to park just across Collings Avenue in the Speedline parking lot or in the municipal parking lot adjacent to it. Caution: the meters have to be fed until 9 PM.

Mrs. MC has shopped at aenigma on many occasions, finding interesting items for herself, or on the most recent occasion, to find a distinctive gift for a friend’s birthday. aenigma is not just for women either. Following Mrs. MC’s good example, I’ve purchased some nice things for her there too. (Hey, guys can usually use some help.)

aenigma carries jewelry, purses, clothing, scarves, decorative items, and a lot of other attractive finery. I can make comparisons, even as a guy, because I have accompanied Mrs. MC on many of her previous shopping excursions. My initial test for such emporia is: Do they have a place for me to sit? (Shop owners, listen up. Give guys a place to sit and they won’t be as likely to bug your lady customers to speed it up.)

Lynda Kane is the proprietor of aenigma. Even after a brief perusal of the shop, one can quickly  tell that the goods there have been well selected, in proper boutique fashion, set off with a carefully honed sense of display. Extensive retail experience and buying skills always show. Ms. Kane’s certainly do and she is also very helpful to her customers. MC rates aenigma five stars.

The perfect prelude or conclusion to shopping here would be to have lunch or dinner at the very nearby “Il Fiore” restaurant on Haddon Avenue at Collings, which I’ve previously reviewed.  (It’s open daily, but closed from 3-5PM. Reservations are necessary for dinner any day.) The ever present and gracious Landi’s food is excellent and priced about as well as you could ever hope for.  Now there is no more enigma! Have a fun girlfriends’ shopping outing at aenigma and  a super meal at Il Fiore ☺
