Voorhees, NJ – Kennedy Health President & CEO Joseph W. Devine, FACHE, has been named one of the 50 most influential business men and women in South Jersey by South Jersey Biz Magazine in its first-ever “Power Players” list of outstanding leaders in the region.
Mr. Devine, a 28-year veteran of Kennedy Health, has been the President & CEO of the integrated health delivery system since 2013. Under his leadership, Kennedy Health has been honored as one of the “Best Hospitals in the Country” by U.S. News & World Report (2014-2015), as well as being twice named a “Top Workplace” by Philly.com (2014, 2015). Kennedy has also received awards from the Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ Network as a top-performing hospital for safe, high-quality, and effective patient care (2014, 2015).
Mr. Devine’s recognitions during his many years of service to Kennedy and the community include having been honored with the Kennedy Beacon Award for his support of the healthcare organization and its mission. During his tenure as President & CEO, Mr. Devine was chosen by South Jersey Business People (SJBP) magazine as one of the region’s “Executives of the Year,” and was also honored by the Washington Township Chamber of Commerce with the Rick Zammer Business Hall of Fame Award, among others.
Mr. Devine serves as a Commissioner of the South Jersey Transportation Authority, as a member of the New Jersey Hospital Association Board of Trustees, a board member of the Southern New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, Executive Club Chairman of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce, as well as with the Adam Taliaferro Foundation, which supports athletes with spinal cord injuries. He has also been Chairperson for the South Jersey Heart Walk, Chairperson for the regional Arthritis Foundation Walk, and is active in many other charitable events.
Mr. Devine holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and a Bachelor’s of Science in both Accounting and Organizational Management from LaSalle University in Philadelphia. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, its highest level of recognition.
The father of two grown daughters, Devine and his wife reside in Washington Township, NJ.
