CNB Crime: Man Visiting Camden City NJ over the Weekend Shot and Killed

UnknownCAMDEN CITY NJ July 6, 205--Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a homicide in the city over the weekend.

Camden County Police responded at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday to the 400 block of Viola Street in Camden for a report of a person shot.

Officers arrived and located the victim, Raheem L. Gilbert, 27, a former Camden resident who had recently relocated to West Virginia, on the porch of a residence.  He was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Gilbert was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 11:39 p.m.

Detectives are working to determine a motive.  No arrests have been made at this time.
