Demarcus Drew Sentenced to Prison for 24 Years for Murder of Camden Resident

CAMDEN CITY NJ JUNE 26, 2015--Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Metro Police Chief Scott Thomson announce:
Today Judge Kelley sentenced defendant Demarcus Drew to 24 years NJ state prison, Drew will have to complete 15 years without parole, for the homicide of victim Marvin Simpson at the intersection of Rose and Whitman Sts., Camden, on November 4, 2011. Drew shot Simpson 5 times killing him.
Drew was found guilty by a jury on May 6, 2015 of Passion/Provocation Manslaughter and several Handgun Offenses.
Assistant Prosecutor Peter Crawford tried the case.
