his season with another honor Monday.

Fichter was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie Pitcher of the Week when the conference announced its weekly honors. It was the third consecutive week that Fichter captured that award after also earning that recognition on April 27 and May 4.

In his lone game last week, Fichter worked 5.1 innings of relief against York (PA) College, holding the Spartans to only one run as the Scarlet Raptors rallied for a 9-6 victory on May 7. He allowed six hits and two walks, while striking out five.

A valuable and versatile member of the Scarlet Raptors' pitching staff, Fichter made nine appearances this season, pitching in both a starting and long relief role. He made three starts, including
one complete game, a 7-3 victory over The College of New Jersey in the NJAC playoffs May 2. He had one save with 2.2 scoreless innings in a 6-3 victory over Ramapo College April 11. Perhaps his most impressive performance, however, was a nine-inning shutout relief stint to pick up the victory in a 3-2, 12-inning win over Kean University April 25. He allowed four hits and four walks, while striking out four in that win, which clinched the regular-season NJAC title for the Scarlet Raptors.

For the season, Fichter went 4-2 with a 2.44 ERA. He finished fourth on the team in innings pitched (44.1), while allowing 40 hits and 11 walks. He struck out 28 and held opponents to a .253 batting average.
