(Camden, NJ) MAY 28, 2015– Officers on bike patrol Tuesday caught one suspect in possession of a loaded gun and another suspect in possession of 25 bags of heroin after observing four individuals handling a weapon.

Officers Rocco Belloni, Jarred Levenson and Matthew Plisak were on bike patrol addressing quality of life issues on the 200 block of Mount Vernon Street around 1 p.m. when they observed four individuals in a vacant lot handling a gun. Facing a potentially volatile situation, the officers exercised tremendous restraint and were able to place the individuals into custody by using verbal commands to avoid a dangerous encounter.

Because of their quick actions and ability to effectively communicate, the officers were able to arrest an armed suspect without conflict – Taquan Allen, 19, of Camden, who was found to be in possession of a loaded .32 caliber I.N.A. revolver. The officers also arrested Yoselin Santana, 23, of Camden, who was found to be in possession of 25 bags of heroin and $140 in cash.

Allen was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and was remanded to the county jail with bail set at $100,000 cash.

Santana was charged with Possession of a CDS, Possession With Intent to Distribute and Possession With Intent to Distribute Within 1,000 Feet of a School. She was remanded to the county jail with bail set at $35,000 cash or bond.
