Belmont University Announces Spring 2015 Dean's List Applause

Colby-Sawyer College Names Eyerusalem Haile to Dean's List

NEW LONDON, NH (05/15/2015)(readMedia)-- Colby-Sawyer College has named Eyerusalem Haile of AddisAbaba to the Dean's List for outstanding academic achievement during the 2015 spring semester. To qualify for the Dean's List students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours in graded courses. Haile, is a member of the class of 2018 majoring in Biology.

Jessica Strassle of Berlin Inducted into Alpha Epsilon Delta Honor Society at Scranton

 SCRANTON, PA (05/15/2015)(readMedia)-- Jessica Strassle of Berlin was among the 63 University of Scranton students inducted into Alpha Epsilon Delta, the national honor society for health pre-professional students. For induction into the honor society, students must have completed at least three semesters of pre-professional health work, have a minimum grade point average of 3.2, and a science grade point average of 3.2 or higher. The University's chapter of the honor society was established in 1976.

Strassle is a sophmore in the Panuska College of Professional Studies at the Jesuit university.

Ryan McDonald receives scholarship from the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences

AMES, IA (05/15/2015)(readMedia)-- Ryan McDonald, from Lumberton, N.J., is the recipient of the Excellence Scholarship from the College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University. This fall, McDonald will be a freshman studying Kinesiology and Health at Iowa State.

The Iowa State University College of Human Sciences and its academic departments awarded more than $1 million in undergraduate and graduate scholarships and awards for this academic year.

Local Students Receive Degrees from Susquehanna University

SELINSGROVE, PA (05/15/2015)(readMedia)-- Four hundred and fifty-five students graduated as Susquehanna University closed its 157th academic year with annual commencement exercises on May 10.

Students were joined in the commencement ceremony by numerous faculty and the commencement speaker. In her commencement address, Comedienne Carol Leifer brought Susquehanna University's Class of 2015 to its feet with a range of well-earned advice and wise-cracking anecdotes. Leifer's appearance at Susquehanna honors the 2014-15 University Theme, "Humor." Her remarks, while light-hearted, urged graduates to seize every opportunity they encounter, whether it's their dream job or not.

Carmen Raroha, of Voorhees, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business administration. A 2011 graduate of Bishop Eustace Prep High School, he is the son of George Raroha.

Kyle Semmel, of Burlington, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in communications. A 2011 graduate of Holy Cross High School, he is the son of Scott and Lois Semmel.
