ATLANTA ,GEORGIA May 28, 2015--Police Officer Toure Heywood succumbed to injuries sustained 12 years earlier when he was struck by a vehicle while conducting a traffic stop. As he spoke to the occupants of the vehicle a second vehicle struck the first car head-on and then struck him. He was transported to a local hospital where he remained in ICU for several days. His health continued to deteriorate as a result of the incident. JACKSON MS (May 25, 2015)--Sergeant Iris Smith was killed in a vehicle collision at approximately 3:15 pm when the prisoner transport van she was driving collided with the back of a tractor trailer on U.S. 49, at J M Tatum Industrial Drive, in Hattiesburg. LAKEWOOD CO (May 23, 2015)--Trooper Taylor Thyfault was struck and killed by a vehicle that was fleeing from other officers. Trooper Thyfault was riding along with a trooper as part of his required training and was at the scene of an unrelated vehicle crash on Colorado Highway 66, near Weld County Road 1. BELLMAWR NJ MAY 28, 2015--Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Bellmawr Police Chief William Walsh reported a Missouri man is facing charges for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting his estranged girlfriend. LINDENWOLD NJ--On May 27, 2015 Detectives from the Lindenwold Police Department and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Suburban Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at the Belmont Apartments on the White Horse Pike. The search warrant resulted from a month long investigation into the sales of narcotics at that location. May 26, 2015 An investigation by WNYC has revealed that black children are four times more likely than white children to enter foster care in New Jersey. The investigation showed that 41 percent of those entering foster care in NJ are black, despite the fact that black children make up just 14 percent of children in the state. WOODBURY NJ May 26,2015--Joseph Zambuto (DOB 3/13/81), of Williamstown NJ has been charged with the fatal stabbing of his 70-year-old father during an argument in the suspect’s Meade Court home early Monday ( 5/25) afternoon. Joseph Zambuto was arrested at his home shortly after the death of his father, also named Joseph. The elder Zambuto lived with his wife in a home next door to his son.
