A dapper gentleman with an unmatched wit and memorable one-liners, Tom lived in Pennsauken for over 50 years, but his heart remained in the City of Brotherly Love, his birthplace. On April 22, 2015, at age 89. Tom passed away peacefully in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Camden.
Loving brother of Edna May Ripley of East Providence , RI. Cherished uncle of Hope (Hoop) Morgan of Wilmington, NC, Todd L. Rogers of Grand Rapids, MI, Craig W. Rogers (Joan Velush) of Sandy Hook, CT, (late David Ripley) surviving wife Rene Harvitt of Great Barrington, MA , Don Ripley (Cindy) of Smithfield, RI, Doris (Mark) Anderman of Jersey Shore, PA, Denise (Ken Gober) Ripley of Killeen, Texas and Dawn (Kevin) Wiley of Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
Devoted great-uncle of Barrett (Caroline) and Brie Conway, Alex, Zoe and Noah Velush – Rogers, Cara and Devin Anderman, Craig, Linda, Kristen and Heather Ripley.
Thomas was born in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, PA and Drexel University. He proudly served our Country in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy Department of the Merchant Marines. Thomas worked for RCA (presently GE) Corporate Headquarters in Cherry Hill. He was a member of Plays and Players Theater of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Art Alliance, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia Zoo, The Barnes Foundation , The Keenagers of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church and Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church of Cherry Hill.
Methodist Service and U.S. Army Honors will be private at Camden County Veterans Cemetery at Harleigh Cemetery, Camden. Cremation private at the request of the family.
