(CNBNews)--What is happening to our society? Where are our leaders? No one speaks out against this type of behavior. And then the Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake says at a press conference that she gave protestors space to destroy in the wake of Freddie Gray's death.

WHAT!!!

Gray suffered a spinal injury at some point while in police custody and died a week later. Authorities haven’t explained how his spine was injured.

“While we tried to make sure that they were protected from the cars and the other things that were going on, we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well,” Rawlings-Blake said of the protesters. “And we work very hard to keep that balance and to put ourselves in the best position to deescalate, and that’s what you saw.”
