Nijaherie Scanes of Camden City Arrested for Spitting on Two Camden County Police Officers


Camden City, NJ March 28, 2015 (–Officers responding to a dispute outside of a bar arrested a woman who punched and kicked one officer and spit on two other officers. 6a00d8341bf7d953ef019aff0a0a5a970b-320wi


Around 1 a.m. Thursday, Officer Matthew Krol responded to Luby’s Bar on the 1200 block of Kaighns Avenue to investigate a disturbance. After arriving on the scene, Officer Krol observed several women holding back Nijaherie Scanes, 30, of Camden, who was trying to fight another woman. When Officer Krol attempted to intervene, Scanes punched and kicked him, including striking him in the face.


Scanes also spit on Officer Daniel Kramer and Sgt. Terrell Watkins several times during her arrest. 


Scanes was charged with Improper Behavior, Resisting Arrest and three counts of Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer. She was remanded to the county jail with bail set at $15,000 cash or bond.
