CNBNEWS asked Paris Avenue resident Scott Halliwell what happened, "A drunk neighbor hit a parked car, flipped her car and then landed on another parked car. She crawled out the back window and sat on the curb. No injuries as far as I know. The driver was given a breathalyzer test by police and arrested. A bottle of alcohol rolled out of her vehicle when the car was flipped back on its wheels. It's just never a dull moment on Paris Avenue!"
The Brooklawn Police released the following information about the accident:
On 03/17/2015 at approximately 10:44 PM, Brooklawn Police Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Paris Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving an overturned vehicle. The first arriving officer found the striking vehicle to be on its side with the lone operator inside. The operator was able to safely exit the vehicle without injury. The investigating officer suspected the operator to be under the influence of alcohol, at which time field sobriety tests were conducted. The operator subsequently performed poorly on the tests, placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, and transported to police headquarters for further processing. The striking vehicle struck two parked vehicles, one of which was towed due to the extent of damage.
At police headquarters, she provided a breath sample, which yielded a blood alcohol concentration of .13%. The accused was processed, issued two traffic summonses, and transported to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Cherry Hill, NJ by Brooklawn Emergency Medical Services for further medical treatment.
