PINE HILL POLICE DEPT ALERT: Bike Registration Program open; Online registration available soon

PINE HILL NJ--As the snow finally gives way to warm spring days, the children in our community will finally have the opportunity to enjoy their time outdoors and riding their bikes.  On Tuesday, March 24, 2015 the Pine Hill Police Department held their Bicycle Registration Kickoff event at the Pine Hill Middle School, Dr. Albert Bean and John H. Glenn Elementary Schools.  The program was established to help locate the owners of found bicycles and ensure the necessary information is on file for those bicycles reported stolen.

To help start the program, a letter was sent home to all middle school and elementary school parents explaining the program and providing a registration form.  SRO Rowello and Ptl. Marino visited the middle and elementary schools and registered the bicycles of students who were not deterred by the chilly spring temperatures and rode to school.  Students were given bicycle safety tips and a demonstration on how to properly secure their bicycle when not in use.

 How the Program Works

  • Parents or guardians complete the Bicycle Registration Form online atwww.pinehillpd.com and submit the form online, or
  • Parents or guardians stop by the Police Administration Building to complete and submit the form.
  • If submitted online, an Officer will contact the parent or guardian and schedule a time to visit the residence and provide the uniquely numbered Pine Hill Police Department Bicycle Registration Sticker, along with bicycle safety and security tips.
  • If submitted at the Police Administration Building, a uniquely numbered Pine Hill Police Department Bicycle Registration Sticker can be provided, although it is preferred an Officer meets with the child to review bicycle safety and security tips.
  • The Bicycle Registration Forms are maintained at the Police Administration Building and is accessible by officers from their Patrol Unit for quick reference when a bicycle is found or reported stolen.

Registration events will also be scheduled throughout the year, so please check our website for updates.
