GLOUCESTER CITY NJ (cnbnews.net) --Sunday, February 8, at 6:30PM, a Gloucester City 10906145_778939912176243_8086295575022335592_nPolice Sergeant patroling Sherwood Avenue observed a vehicle traveling towards him at a high rate of speed, subsequently forcing him off the road.  The sergeant engaged in a pursuit with the vehicle on Market Street towards Broadway, which was terminated shortly thereafter due to excessive speed.

A short time later, Bellmawr Police received a call about a vehicle matching the same description as the fleeing vehicle, with front end damage, parked in the TD Bank parking lot on the Black Horse Pike.  Bellmawr officers detained a suspect inside the vehicle.  The vehicle was positively identified as the fleeing vehicle and the suspect admitted to operating the vehicle.  Subsequent investigation determined Camden County Police had earlier engaged in a pursuit with the vehicle in Camden City and terminated the pursuit as the suspect entered Gloucester City.  The suspect did drive across several lawns on Sherwood Avenue causing damage and struck the stop sign at Market Street and Greenwood Avenue.

John D. Cordisio (24), a resident of Woodstown, was charged with eluding, criminal mischief and numerous motor vehicle violations.  After processing, he was turned over to Camden County Police.
