BROOKLAWN NJ --On 01-27-2015 at approximately 9:00 PM, Brooklawn Police Officers were dispatched to the Swap Shop for a report of a robbery that just occurred. The first arriving officer quickly determined that it was not a robbery that occurred, but a burglary at Ron Todd Automotive. A witness reported seeing a male crawling out of a first floor window with a television and laptop computer. The suspect left the stolen property behind prior to fleeing on foot towards Westbrook Lanes. Several patrol units saturated the area in an attempt to locate the male, but were met with negative results.
While officers were still on location at Ron Todd and less than a half hour after being dispatched were now being dispatched to a possible burglary in progress at the Gulf Gas Station. It was reported that a male threw a rock through the front window of the business and was now fleeing on Browning Lane towards Route 130 after being spooked by the caller.
Responding officers were able to locate a male matching the description given by the caller at Browning Lane and Route 130 and take him into custody without incident.
Through further investigation, it was learned that the suspect officers had in custody was the male who committed the burglary at Ron Todd Automotive and attempted burglary at the Gulf Gas Station.
The suspect was transported to police headquarters where he was processed, issued several warrants, and bail was set at $30,500.00 cash. After failing to post bail, he was lodged at the Camden County Correctional Facility.
