Autopsy finding in Mantua death, Accidental

WOODBURY NJ (December 29, 2014)--In an autopsy conducted today by the Gloucester County Medical Examiner, the cause of death of 58-year-old Theodore Smith III of Deptford NJ was determined to be drowning.

The manner of death was determined to be accidental.

Mr. Smith's body was found Sunday (12/28) by a Deptford Township police officer on the bank of the Mantua Creek in Mantua NJ near the Route 45 overpass of the creek. He was last seen leaving the Telford Inn in Mantua late Saturday (12/27) . telling an employee he was walking home. His body was found about a half mile from his home and a short distance from the Telford Inn. His wife called police when he had not arrived home at 2 a.m. Sunday.
